Testimonials:

I’m Andy, a 26-year-old full-time powerlifting coach. I graduated from Merrimack College with a B.S. in Exercise Science in 2021 and have since built my experience across working in physical therapy clinics, strength & conditioning, and powerlifting.

After graduating, I spent about a year and a half working as a rehab aide in a physical therapy clinic, learning from the physical therapists I worked alongside while continuing my own education. Realizing my passion was more aligned with performance, I earned my C.S.C.S. and completed a strength & conditioning internship at Champion PT & Performance in Waltham, MA. There, I worked with athletes of all levels, ranging from children and high school athletes to collegiate, professional, and adult populations. This experience gave me a strong foundation in movement assessment, biomechanics, and hands-on coaching.

Around the same time, I competed in my first powerlifting meet. I’ve been competing since late 2021 and coaching powerlifters since 2022. After co-founding Triumph Strength & Performance with Chris Scaplen and Devan Tenney in 2022, my coaching roster quickly grew. Since then, I’ve made continuous development as a coach a priority, learning through mentorship, networking with other coaches, working with my own athletes, and constantly seeking out new information.

As the business grew, I was fortunate enough to make coaching my full-time career, leaving my part-time job in April 2024. Today, my primary goal remains simple: to give every athlete on my roster the highest level of coaching I can, regardless of their strength or experience, and to continue becoming a better coach every day.

I take my work as a coach extremely seriously. This is my full-time career, and I expect the same level of commitment from the athletes I work with. My ideal clients are motivated individuals who are looking to compete and grow in the sport long-term.

Communication is the foundation of my coaching philosophy. I believe the best results come from a collaborative relationship between coach and athlete, regardless of experience or strength level. I’m highly invested in the progress of every athlete I work with and expect them to take an active role in the process.

I’m not here to babysit athletes or chase them for feedback and completed sessions. My role is to provide objective feedback, make informed adjustments, and guide you toward becoming a better powerlifter.

My system is built around collecting meaningful data from each athlete and using it to develop training that produces sustainable, realistic, and consistent progress. The more effectively we communicate and collaborate, the faster we can identify what works best for you and build a training approach that allows you to continue progressing over the long term.
